We had a lovely weekend over in orbitbud land…
My cousin stayed with us on friday evening.. She met me at my office, we travelled home together and went directly to the nursery to pick up K. The look on K’s face when she saw my cousin S was priceless. She was visibly excited and so happy.. We came home and K was fully occupied with playing with S, showing her all her toys, displaying her new-found vocubulary, and generally regaling her with stories. Dinner was masala dosa, tomato rice and raita…
On Saturday, my cousin and I went along with K to feed the ducks and for a walk in the park.. Took K to the swings, which she loved. She still refuses point-blank to sit on the slide, always preferring the swings. And as usual, she cried when she took her off the swings. Had lunch after which S and I left for town. I went to Oxford street to do a spot of shopping – something which I havent done in months and months now and my cousin was going further west for a birthday party. Got a dress, a skirt and a couple of blouses, in keeping with my new resolution of wearing more dresses and skirts.
On Sunday, an old close college friend of mine, G, here on work from Australia came home for lunch. Caught up with all the gossip and our news as I was meeting him after a really long time. K took a real liking to him, which is saying a lot because she normally screams when she meets new men. She has been repeatedly saying his name since. There is something so wonderful about meeting old friends – with some you can just pick up from where you left off and we did just that. G is also one of the very few people from my college and working life who addresses me by my home name – somehow i feel a real connection with him.
The next week promises to be fun too as we are on holiday. Yayy… cant wait.
